Takeoff

Ledger

The ledger sits beside the canvas in Takeoff — it's the priced, itemised list that everything you measure feeds into. A trade folder holds headings and line items underneath it; a line item is what carries a quantity, a tool, and eventually a rate.

Row structure

Ledger rows nest: trade folders at the top, headings to group items inside a trade, and line items underneath those. Draw a shape against a line item and its quantity updates from the drawing; the rate gets added later, when you're entering quotes (see Enter quotes).

Right-click actions

Right-click any row for the actions available on it:

  • Add item — a line to measure and price.
  • Add folder — a new trade.
  • Add cost option — a cost priced on its own, outside the tender total. See Cost options & provisional sums.
  • Add provisional sum — an allowance carried inside the tender total. Same page as above.
  • Make Heading / Make Line Item — flip a row between the two, in place.
  • Duplicate — copy a line item as a sibling row below it.
  • Fly to source — on a row your AI drafted, jumps the canvas to where it found that item on the drawings.
  • Collapse all / Expand all — close or open every heading at once.
  • Indent / Outdent — move a row one level in or out of the tree.
  • Delete — remove the row.

Not every action shows on every row — Fly to source, for instance, only appears where there's a source to show, and folder-only actions don't appear on a line item.
